Megan Rains Bio

Megan Rains received her B.F.A. at Parsons School of Design in New York, NY where she majored in Illustration with a minor in Photography.  She worked in New York City for several years as a freelance designer for companies such as Glamour and Cosmo magazine, HBO and Martha Stewart as well as illustrating children's books for a number of authors.  She then studied Fine Art and Art History in Italy, painting several murals for commercial and residential spaces in Tuscany. After her studies in Italy Megan returned to Parsons School of Design and received her MFA.  

In 2001 Megan moved to Washington D.C, where she has been working as a freelance designer, Illustrator and art educator.  Megan has painted a number of murals throughout the metropolitan area including the Smithsonian National Zoo.  Her artwork has been displayed at the Fraser Gallery in Georgetown as well as many other galleries and commercial spaces in the DC area.  Megan recently completed painting a car displayed at the International Spy Museum located in Washington DC.
